Opposing Forces

Powder coated aluminium 1200 x 900 x 800mm – $1,600

The intention was to explore the interaction of forces travelling in two opposing planes. The turn at the outer end of each piece shows the tension created when two opposing Ideas or forces meet and contend with each other. The two interlocked shapes create a perfectly balanced and unified abstract image. After powder coating the surface of the aluminium it is backed in an oven, creating durability. Soft reflective silver gives a subtle finish to this sculpture.

Currenlty in honours year at National Art School, Maurice was a 2007 finalist Moran Portrait Prize at Library of NSW and exhibited in Power in the House exhibition of Portraits Artists Australia at Parliament House, Sydney. He exhibits regulary with the NSW Sculptors Society.
