Gary is a foundation member of the Hunter Region Sculptors Network and committee member of the Newcastle Mattara Sculpture Exhibition. He began his sculpture career in 1997 after completing a certificate in Studio Ceramics Techniques and finding his preference was to create figurative works in clay. This naturally led to the more challenging medium of direct stone sculpture. He now uses clay for creating the marquettes for his larger stone sculpture.
