SinV Opening Celebration
Sculpture in the Vineyards officially opened with an extrordinary Lantern Parade through the streets of Wollombi.
Music, performance and general frivolity followed throughout the weekend.
Lantern magicians Felicity Yoston and Phil Relf, had been conducting regular workshops for local children and members of the community in the lead up to this great mobilising to enlighten Wollombi Village for the grand opening of SinV.
The exhibition was jointly launched by Virginia Mitchell, director of Cessnock Regional ART Gallery (left with SinV Director Tara Morelos) and Paul Budde, managing director of Budde Comm, an independent telecommunications research and consultancy organisation located in Bucketty in the Lower Hunter Valley.
Sculpture the Vineyards celebrations this year were part of a broader Wollombi Community Country Fair, held around the Tennis Courts in Negro Street Wollombi, which included a Woodchop at the Tavern and open day at the Museum over the weekend.
